Marylanders are counting on our state and local governments to see them through tough times, but Governor Hogan is proposing unnecessary, drastic cuts to the very things that are lifelines for working families. We have a chance to stop these harmful cuts!
Cutting funds from public schools, state and local health departments, and state universities at a time when they are trying to adapt to unprecedented challenges is reckless. And cutting hundreds of state positions will put more people out of work, and leaves state agencies less able to serve Marylanders.
Tell Governor Hogan to work with our congressional delegation to get additional federal support for state and local governments; use the state’s emergency funds that were set aside for times like these; and to consider common-sense revenue generating ideas.
The Board of Public Works will consider these cuts on July 1, and decision makers need to hear from us to stop these misguided actions. Contact the members of the Board of Public Works today and ask them to reject Governor Hogan’s harmful cuts!
